Welcome to the Donnybrook Apple Festival
Saturday 7th April 2012
and
Sunday 8th April 2012
In 2012 the Donnybrook Apple Festival will be 58 years old (a significant milestone).
It will be the 37th Festival overall and the 27th for Donnybrook.
The Festival is a bi-annual event, held over the Easter weekend. In 2012 it will be held the 7th & 8th April.
The Festival Committee is seeking community support as they work towards Easter 2012.
They would like the festival to be a celebration of life in Donnybrook.
The committee believes the festival is a mighty opportunity to promote the town, the district and the diverse array of produce we grow.
The Apple Festival remains a major event in the calendar of the Donnybrook community.
Its historical connections with the community have been highlighted in the various themes throughout the years.
For the 2012 Festival the theme will be 'Home Grown & Healthy'. With emphasis on the clean, green growing environment of our district.
The fruit industry particularly the apple & pear growing will remain the focus.
2012 is the 'Australian Year of the Farmer '. The Apple Festival Committee has been invited to play host to the travelling exhibit promoting the 'Year of the Farmer'.
This will be an added attraction for the 2012 Festival.
The Apple Festival Committee have been working for some time, planning the event, looking at funding opportunities, sponsorship, sourcing entertainment, equipment quotes and many other tasks which go into staging an event like the Festival.
