To all community members & groups,
In 2012, the Donnybrook Apple Festival will be 58 years old. (a significant milestone). It will be the 37th Festival over all, and the 27th Festival for Donnybrook.
The festival committee are seeking community support as they work towards Easter 2012. We would like it to be a celebration of life in Donnybrook.
The theme is ' Home Grown & Healthy '.
The committee believes the festival is a mighty opportunity to promote the town, the district and the diverse array of produce we grow.
We take this opportunity to encourage your group to join us in planning & working towards the event in April. We would like to offer your group reciprocal arrangements for advertising. If you are planning some events for the weekend, we are willing to include you in any advertising we do, and then for you to advertise our events on any flyers or promotional material you might have.
We would welcome interest from your group, also for input with ways we can improve.
Your group / club might be interested in undertaking a money raising venture as part of the festival. Please put forward a proposal.
We will be looking for local groups to participate in :
- Ambassadors competition - you might be able to nominate an ambassador entrant. Aged 17 - 30 male or female.
- Autumn Ball - ambassadors
- Cocktail Party / Sundowner
- Collection and display of local produce
- Volunteers / co-ordination
An Art Show is already being organised.
We meet first Mondays each month, at the Visitors Centre ( Old Railway Station ) 7.30pm. We meet more often, closer to the Festival.
Please contact a committee member or come to a meeting, you will be most welcome.
Lets all work together, keep the Donnybrook Apple Festival on the events calendar, and welcome the visitors when they come.
