The Donnybrook Apple Festival 1995The Chairman of the 1995 Apple Festival was John Sparkes who with Co-ordinator Anne Chapple and Treasurer Helena Sparkes came up with some new ideas for events and displays. They also managed to enlist the major sponsorship of Healthways who were a big financial help to running the festival. The most noticeable change to the program was the return of horse events to Egan Park for the first time since the last Donnybrook Agricultural Show in 1965. A large area of the oval was fenced off for this purpose. Also presenters from Scitech, The National Indigenous Theatre and local musicians were arranged. The fruit and horticultural industries were well represented and orchard tours were reinstated after a lapse of many years. The theme for this year's festival was " A Time to Remember". Not only the great time people will have attending the festival, but also remembering the pioneers who made the district what it is. With ten Apple Queen entrants the success of parade was assured.
