Apple FunPark                       Construction Pictures        Volunteers & Donors          History

The biggest free entry Fun Park in Australia, worth over $2 million, is in Donnybrook WA, which was opened at Easter 2008. The park has play equipment for all ages - from toddlers to teenagers and is situated on the corner of Collins and Reserve St (off South West Highway)

About 1/2 hour out of Bunbury (and 2.5 hours south of Perth).  Donnybrook is famous for its apple growing, so the park has a fruit theme.

The “Apple FunPark” is situated  in the Donnybrook town centre with a wide range of shops nearby including food, clothing & giftware. And the coffee?  There are a number of cafes and bakeries etc that do coffee.  Have a picnic at the playground.

The Apple FunPark includes six electric BBQs with power points and running water; tables and seating; making this a great family picnic area. The park is fenced with self closing gates, so that parents can sit back and relax while the children play. It has everything you could want in a playground plus more.  There is a toddler area with lots of low ride-on animals and kiddie swings, a preschoolers climbing and slide area and a huge piece of playground equipment with four-level towers and slides, rope bridges and flying foxes.  There is also a spacenet, some low rock climbing walls and more swings.

The main structure has panels with fruit designs to compliment the agricultural and orchard theme of the district.

There are two towers that rise 9.5 m above the ground and a range of play equipment suitable for all ages – from toddlers right up to climbing walls for teenagers.

This is a world class family and tourist facility.

The Apple FunPark has lighting towers and security cameras to ensure that it can be accessed by the general public at any time. Toilets are locked at 10PM. The park is not manned.

Along the side of the play equipment are three huge shade sail gazebos that cover the picnic tables and bbqs, and a grassed area to sit. The toddlers area has shade sails over it, but the rest of the playground does not.  The whole park has a fence around it, to keep everyone safe.

"Crendon Machinery" designed and vastly funded the Apple FunPark, ensuring that it would be unique in almost every part and well worth a visit.   Thanks must also go to all the volunteers who made it possible!  Its disappointing that the shire has not kept it at its best.

To keep the parents fit, there is also an adult friendly area that has gym circuit type exercise equipment made of metal that you and the kids can use to have a workout (pretend or otherwise).
